Ok, first things first...We have a winner! Two actually. Gerald Davis caught me outside my hotel this morning and laid claim to the SpaceNavigator and Jeff Arthur found me at 4pm to take the SpaceNavigator. Congratulations to both of you
You mentioned that one of the new utilities in SolidWorks Lab is " Viewin" but what I saw it is " Zoomin".
You are right. It is ZoomIn. That is what I get for typing my articles so late at night!
Brian,
Sorry for the mixup there. I have corrected the post. I figured I was bound to garble something up this week as much as I have been typing.
For those of you who don't know, Brian is part of the team putting together the products shown on the SolidWorks Labs website. He gave me a quick demo of all four items and they are all VERY impressive.

I had downloaded "Zoomin" and test it out, and some feedback had been sent to 'labsFeedback@solidworks.com', hope you had received it. The problems are listed down here:
1. The Zoomin program does not have a "resize" or "restore" button, it only can be minimized or maximized.
2. The Edrawings outputted from Zoomin program can not be opened by Edrawing 2007.
3.Zoomin crashed when I try to open the Edrawings file (opt bench.edrw, it is in \ZoomIn\Samples directory) by double click it.
Cheers.
You said the model "fly through" can be daved into a variety of video formats for use in presentations. but I can not find this function at all, maybe I need to have a Help file for Zoomin.
BTW, I can not find any Help document for Zoom in.
If you want to save out the fly-through, click on the Output tab and then Save File ... one of the output types is WMV and that's your video output.
I didn't see your feedback on the Labs site but other feedback has come in. For some reason, we didn't get the mail. But, I'll respond here.
- Yes, we are expecting the product to run full-screen only ... that's what you'd do, typically, when you present, right? What are your thoughts based on that comment?
- The file format is eDrawings 2008 which is not released yet but will be in the next 4 months or so (it goes into beta in about 2 months). We used the new format since it contains preview images of the eDrawings file which is really nice ... plus, we were able to get a Pro/E translator for eDrawings based on the newer format/code.
- The double-click is a bug that we'll fix.
Keep the feedback coming, it's very much appreciated!
Brian
